USCIS Contract Awarded

November 25, 2008

US Investigations (USIS) has selected E-merging Technologies Group to assist in supporting a large contract for the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.  USCIS was created as the component of the Department of Homeland Security responsible for the administration of citizenship and immigration services for the United States.  USCIS was also created in order to secure America’s promise as a nation of immigrants by disseminating accurate and useful information as needed to provide benefits to immigrants, promoting an awareness and understanding of citizenship, and ensuring the integrity of our immigration system.  The sole mission of USCIS is to ensure that proper benefits are disseminated and issued to the right people, at the right time; and that no benefits are granted to people or persons who are ineligible to receive them.

USCIS created Fraud Detection and National Security (“FDNS”) to enhance the integrity of the legal immigration system and, as a result, to increase America’s national security.  The primary objectives of FDNS include the following:

•    Identify national security and public safety threats
•    Combat immigration benefit fraud
•    Identify and remove systemic vulnerabilities
•    Collaborate with law enforcement as well as other agencies

In order to meet the USCIS priority of enhancing the integrity of this country’s legal immigration system, FDNS must implement processes and identify the resources that are necessary for combating fraud and ensuring that law enforcement background checks are conducted on all persons seeking benefits.  These processes are implemented at USCIS Centers, and Asylum and Field Offices throughout the United States.  Many of these processes require that information be validated to ensure persons and organizations seeking immigration benefits are legally entitled to them.

E-merging Technologies Group will provide investigative and analytical support to the US CIS operations.
